Manager - Research Station Kununurra, WA Opportunity to be involved with exciting research programsManage and oversee operations of researchers and technical staff to conduct research at a well-resourced facilityGreat lifestyle – live on the Research Station or in town with access to some of the best coastline and inland camping in Australia Full Time Salary TBA Apply Full Description Opportunity to be involved with exciting research programsManage and oversee operations of researchers and technical staff to conduct research at a well-resourced facilityGreat lifestyle – live on the Research Station or in town with access to some of the best coastline and inland camping in Australia About the CompanyThe focus of the Department is to develop and protect Western Australia’s agriculture and food sector and aquatic resources and build vibrant regions with strong economies.About the roleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic horticultural farm manager to oversee and coordinate all facets of the Research Station, which will also include reporting back to head office.Responsibilities Leads the team on the research facilityOptimises success of research trials by engaging with researchers to ensure they have clarity on the needs of the research trial and researchers have clarity on operational practicalities and limitationsContributes to the effectiveness of the Branch by actively participating in the branch leadership teamDevelops a cohesive team within the research facility and ensures effective team support from the research facility to other areas of DPIRDAlerts appropriate levels of management to opportunities and concerns about government requests, department management and industry needs, through timely reportingSupports emergency responses (e.g. people, system, infrastructure, etc.) as required Requirements Education / Experience / Skills Possession of, or progression towards a Diploma in Agriculture and/or a Certificate IV in Scientific Research Methodology, or equivalents, desirable not essentialDemonstrated experience in managing a complex agricultural, and preferably horticultural operationA current and valid driver’s licenceAn acceptable National Police Certificate (police clearance) is required Application ONLY THOSE WITH WORKING RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA NEED APPLYAgribusiness Recruitment Pty Ltd thanks all applicants.
