HSC Presiding Officer - St Columba’s, Springwood

The Presiding Officer is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct, and supervision of the HSC Examinations and is supported by a team of supervision staff.The successful applicant is employed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to ensure the examinations are conducted in accordance with the NESA's rules. The Presiding Officer is responsible for:• liaising with the school Principal or delegate for the examination set-up• following all directions which have been given by NESA about security and administrative procedures• maintaining security of the examination papers and materials at all times• maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times• following and observing NESA’s Policies and Procedures regarding disability provisions and illness/misadventure applications• following and observing all Child Protection, Emergency Evacuation and Workplace Health and Safety procedures and policies. The Presiding Officer must:• have use of a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy• have intermediate working knowledge of common software programs and tasks, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents etc• possess strong organisational skills• have good attention to detail• effectively manage students and a team of supervisors. The Presiding Officer will be available for the entire HSC Examination period, Tuesday, 15 October to Friday, 8 November 2024. The Presiding Officer will also supervise and administer Year 12 Trial HSC Examinations - Monday, 5 August to Tuesday, 20 August 2024 Special NotesThe following restrictions on eligibility for employment as a Test Supervisor exist:• The applicant has a child or near relative sitting the 2024 Higher School Certificate Examinations cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer.• The applicant is/was recently employed by the school (paid or volunteer) and may be perceived as a conflict of interest. This may include, but is not limited to, clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers.
