An amazing number, but we’re always looking for new ways to continue making a difference, and new people to make a difference with.The Opportunity We are looking for a highly dynamic and motivated Research scientist to join our Biologics, Antibody Engineering research and development team . The candidate will join a highly experienced scientific team with state of the art facilities that performs discovery of therapeutic antibodies. Specifically the research activities will support antibody engineering workflows including antibody expression and purification, analytical characterisations, antibody sequence analysis, design, screening of optimised antibodies.How you'll Spend Your Day This is a lab based role which includes: Protein expression and characterization workflows Protein sequence analysis Characterisation of antibodies employing either Surface Plasmon Resonance, Flow Cytometry, ELISAs, Time-Resolved Fluorescence assays, Mass Spectrometry Molecular biology experience, design of expression constructs and DNA cloning Collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams to communicate project activities and timelines Keep up with the emerging trends in the discipline, provide regular updates to key stakeholders through presentations, author reports, and maintain experiment records in a timely manner through the use of electronic lab notebooks Training of junior staff members as required Provide general research/laboratory support, including ordering and maintaining consumables, interacting with suppliers Your Experiences and Qualifications Doctorate or equivalent experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology or related discipline Demonstrated interest or experience in protein structure analysis and functional evaluation In depth knowledge of protein purification and characterization techniques.
