Alpha Omega Education is an established provider of intentional teaching opportunities in Early Childhood. Our learning principles focus on preparing children for school utilizing our approach to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children from 2 years up to 6 years of age.
  • Share in the general cleaning and maintenance of the centre, ensuring the environment is safe, clean and hygienic as well as aesthetically pleasing.
  • Ensure that confidentiality and privacy for staff, parents, and children’s personal information is respected.
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of Alpha Omega Education.
  • Have an actively anti-bias approach which is reflected in interactions with children, families and staff.
  • Have the ability to use basic information technology.
  • Be responsible for teaching children aged 18 - 36 months and will be in charge of their overall academic progress, keeping toddlers engaged during activities and being able to rapidly adjust lesson plans and activities throughout the day.
  • Be responsible for the children's overall wellbeing and safety. This will include tasks such as supervising them during lessons and/or play, assisting children with meal times, toilet training/nappy changing, keeping children's appearance neat and tidy and sleep times.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to ensure the classrooms and environments are inviting and nurturing for every child.
  • Deliver reports on potential concerns about students as to management as needed.
  • Assist Leading Teachers in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs.
  • Assist other teachers in supervising, monitoring and teaching the children in the other classrooms when required.
  • Write progress reports on the children's academic and behavioural progress as required by the program coordinators.
  • Develop fun and engaging lessons/activities that are interactive and enjoyable while supporting child development.
  • Provide learning opportunities for all children through the use of intentional teaching.
  • Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents.
  • Any other duties as specified by the Co-ordinator, room leaders and Educational leader.

Essential Qualifications and Skills :

  • Certificate III or equivalent in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor Degree in any industry (overseas qualification acceptable)
  • A passion for Early and Primary Education
  • Willingness to work with children
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with both children and staff
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be flexible, adaptable and highly reliable
  • Working with Children Check
