Your new company This section within an important Government Department is responsible for regulating therapeutic goods including prescription medicines, vaccines, sunscreens, vitamins and minerals, medical devices, blood and blood products.

Your new role

The Project Officer duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Developing education material and other documents to improve sponsors compliance with their post market regulatory obligations,
  • Assist in reviewing sponsor responses and organizing logistics for the Medical Devices Vigilance Program
  • Assist in supporting working groups as required including drafting meeting documents and meeting Minutes
  • Support other post-market medical devices projects as required.
  • Draft educational documents
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI)
  • Undertake research and work closely with Executive Level Officers and other internal stakeholders as required,
  • Assist in preparing meeting papers, briefings and organise meetings, conflict of interest registers.
  • Build relationships with industry members, consumer bodies and state and territories.
  • Undertake coordination and administration and other tasks as required, e.g. ad hoc briefing requests, development of educational materials.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Writing for the appropriate audience (including writing government documents).
  • Established interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to maintain solid professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly acquire knowledge of medical device regulation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including sound attention to detail and the ability to confidently draft and edit a range of written correspondence and documentation.
  • Project planning and management.
  • Analysis and critical thinking.
  • Experienced in Government processes and policy writing/development.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance and undertake research.
  • Administration and coordination.
