Applications Close: 17/06/2024 Position No: RENG-EQP-MDE Work Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Bunbury RCR Mining Technologies has an exciting career opportunity at our Head Office in Bunbury for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. In this leadership position, you will be working within a dynamic and industry leading multi-disciplinary Engineering team, leading the design of Mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector. Using a First Principles approach to Engineering you will design OEM equipment, large plant and bespoke machines from the concept and pre-feasibility stages through to execution and client handover. This key role provides opportunities for both personal reward and growth as you lead and mentor Engineering professionals and share your expertise within the wider business.  As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Leading and managing Design projects including preparation of design plans, task and job lists and documentation to track project progress Performing and verifying designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practise Engineering methods Ensuring designs are compliant to relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications and Safety in Design philosophy Enhancing Engineering processes and procedures Leading and mentoring team members towards peak performance To be considered for this position, you will need to have: A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering 7+ years’ of demonstratable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role Design Project Management experience Proven leadership and mentoring skills Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran and/or Strand7 software packages Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment At RCR Mining Technologies , we value our employees and offer competitive remuneration, excellent working conditions, and attractive benefits such as: Flexible working arrangements Learning and development opportunities Free Life & Income Protection Insurance Discounted Private Health Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) RCR Mining Technologies is a leading provider of innovative solutions and equipment to the mining sector.
