An exciting opportunity for a Financial Management Business Partner has become available. Reporting to the Manager - Financial Management Services, this is a dynamic role focusing specifically upon supporting our Generation business. This role will require you to partner closely with cost centre managers where you will influence, guide and support them to take an active role in relation to understanding and effectively managing their costs and cost drivers. You will also be responsible for month end and financial year end processing and reporting, facilitation of the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes and for developing and delivering insightful reporting that helps to drive disciplined financial management across the organisation. Our ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and be able to communicate effectively with key operational stakeholders. They will be expected to gain an in-depth understanding of our operations and develop strong working relationships internally and externally to enhance company performance and cost management. This is a pivotal role that can, by mutual agreement, offer flexible working arrangements, as Snowy Hydro appreciates the additional value such arrangements can bring to our business and to our employees. The successful candidate can choose to work primarily from Cooma, Melbourne or Sydney with relocation packages available. Irrespective of primary work location, regular travel to regional offices and assets will be essential to establish key stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities will include: Ongoing maintenance and review of finance structures, systems, processes and cost controls Reconciliation of ledger and subledger balances Coordinating, facilitating, interrogating, analysing, challenging and uploading operating expenditure budgets and forecasts Analysing data and delivering timely, accurate and high quality reporting together with valuable insights to key stakeholders Effectively identifying and communicating potential cost optimisation opportunities Proactive management and mentoring of direct reports and other team members of the broader Finance Team Engaging with operations personnel to support and develop their familiarity with accounting concepts, finance processes and general awareness of cost performance Delivering superior levels of customer service to internal and external stakeholders by responding to all reasonable requests within the agreed standards and timeframes We're looking for someone with: A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or another Finance related field CPA/CA qualifications or currently undertaking studies to obtain a professional membership to either of these organisations Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a large corporate environment Advanced spreadsheeting and data analysis skills plus experience with ERP systems Demonstrated understanding and experience with cost management and analysis software such as Workday Familiarity with databases, SQL, data analysis and reporting tools such as PowerBI Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to draw valuable insights from data A proven ability to explain complex concepts simply, clearly and succinctly Strong rapport building and communication skills.
