We’re looking for Maintenance Supervisors to start mid May, based out of our Dandenong South depot.About the RoleStarting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government. Our mission is to deliver safer and more reliable journeys for Victorian road users, keep communities better connected, and create a more sustainable road network. We have a wide variety of Paid leave options from Purchased Leave, Parental leave, Cultural leave and more.ACCESS - to our Corporate Novated Leasing, Accommodation and Private Healthcare offers.How you'll contribute:Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Lead, Maintenance Supervisors lead internal crews and delivery partners (subcontractors) to complete routine servicing/cyclic works, hazard and defect rectification works and emergency response activities, as set by the Planning & Optimisation team. Specifically, Maintenance Supervisors are accountable for: Completing works in line with Section 750 PB requirements, while minimising impacts on road users and communities, and maximising resource utilisation Leading daily pre-start and shift-close meetings and carrying out day-to-day activity and performance management of crews and delivery partners, with a strong focus on safety, the environment, quality and efficiency Liaising with the Works Monitoring team to respond to emergency events and prioritise completion of urgent hazard rectification works Contributing to continuous improvement in Maintenance Delivery processes in line with Section 750 PB requirements and data management standards Performing quality assurance of completed works in accordance with the VRMC Quality Management Plan In a typical week, you’ll spend around 75% of your time in the field supporting and coaching your team to deliver works to specification, program and costAbout You:You’ll have at least three years' experience supervising works delivery by internal crews and external delivery partners in a road maintenance or civil works environment. A hands-on leader who enjoys being out in the field, you’ll demonstrate: A proven ability to deliver works to specification, program and cost while maintaining effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. An inclusive approach to managing and developing your team, underpinned by an ability to make best-for-Contract decisions within your span of control Detailed knowledge of civil construction and/or road network management practices, including access, permit and licensing requirements for road maintenance operations Sound digital and data management skills, including familiarity with field applications for works management A proactive lead-indicator approach to minimising quality, safety and environmental risks and incidentsFormal qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in a technical discipline are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability. Why you should join the VRMC team:The work we do connects communities and makes them stronger.
