We currently manage over 120 sports fields, 38 netball courts, 2 athletics tracks, and 118 tennis courts with new, and modernised facilities coming online every year. Casey Fields hosts elite level training grounds for the Melbourne Football Club (AFL/AFLW) and Melbourne City Football Club (A-League), and regularly hosts state level and nationally televised events in sports such as cricket, rugby league, athletics and BMX. The sportsgrounds and active open spaces in Casey are well loved by the local clubs and the residents. A bit about the role You will work with your team to ensure the playing surfaces and surrounds at sportsgrounds and recreation reserves are maintained to the highest standards required for their designated sport or purpose. What you’ll deliver Perform sportsgrounds and active open space maintenance inspections, recording defects and reporting works through Councils corporate software system. Directly provide hands on general maintenance work, renovation and development works relating to the management, maintenance of turf and active open spaces to industry standards. Operate a range of mechanical equipment and plant associated with general turf and gardening operations. Work collaboratively with other members of the Sports, Turf and Pathways team to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Audit and report on contractor performance and OHS as required. Implement traffic management plans. Respond to emergency situations. Operate minor plant when required. Operate a range of mechanical equipment and plant associated with general turf and gardening operations. What you’ll bring Experience and/or strong interest in civil, sports and landscape infrastructure maintenance. Valid Victorian driver’s licence with minimum Medium Rigid Truck Endorsement or be willing to obtain.
