After enabling JavaScript, you will need to close and re-open this browser window. $115,899 - $130,733 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% superannuationBendigo - VIC, Canberra - ACT, Wollongong - NSW The RoleAs the lead for commercial geospatial data acquisition for the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO), you will manage and mentor a team of Commonwealth procurement specialists to ensure geospatial data needs are met in an effective, timely and compliant manner. You will lead the development of commercial data requirements with a broad range of stakeholders, and be responsible for delivering on those requirements to support intelligence activities. You will engage broadly with industry to build relationships and drive the best outcomes for AGO and Defence. This role provides the opportunity to engage with Australia’s National Intelligence Community (NIC) and AGO’s international partners to develop data sharing arrangements, enabling critical allied operations. As a mentor you will guide and develop your team and provide day-to-day tasking to ensure that procurement activities result in fit-for-purpose data to be used by AGO, Defence, the NIC and our international partners. As a member of the GEOINT Data Office (GDO) leadership team, you will contribute to enhancing GDO objectives, helping to foster a positive, collaborative and mission-focused team environment.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For further information, please contact the contact officer. About our TeamThe Data Acquisition team is responsible for managing the procurement of geospatial data for the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO), and plays a critical role in ensuring data requirements needed to support intelligence missions and Defence operations are delivered on through commercial acquisition and procurement. The Data Acquisition team sits within AGO's Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Data Office (GDO), which forms the critical core of a data-centric and enabled intelligence organisation. The GDO is responsible for delivering AGO's Data Strategy, and aligning strategic direction with Defence and the National Intelligence Community (NIC).
