Costco Canberra Part Time Position - minimum of 24hrs per week Rotating roster which will include weekend work and starts from 4am Position SummaryPrepares and bakes a high-volume of bakery product according to Costco SOP’s. Assists in other departments of thewarehouse as needed. Follows proper Bakery and general safety and sanitation procedures and standards. Provides prompt and courteous customer service.Job Duties/Essential Functions• Scales and combines ingredients using power equipment to prepare various types of baked goods. Rolls, cuts, and shapes products• Uses various kitchen instruments when preparing various scratch and frozen items. Dates ingredients, products, and stores for future use• Uses and monitors proof-box, setting of temperature, humidity, and timers• Uses and monitors gas fired rack ovens, setting temperature, and timers. Removes rack of baked product from oven forcooling. Follows production sheets for Order of Production• Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of allequipment required by this position. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food SafetyCertification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Bakery Department• Assists with other Bakery duties as needed. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary• Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers• Assists in teaching apprentices and trade assistants as per SOP, including other areas of the Bakery such as wrapping or cake decorating.Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery• Calculator, scales, water meter, oven racks, proof box, ovens, large power mixers, muffin depositor, food processor, piecrust machine, bowl lift, safety ladder, pan dollies, apricot glazer, wheeled product bins, commercial dishwasher, wrappingmachine, cake slicing machine, product pump, and labeller.Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)Education/Training: Higher School Certificate or relevant Apprenticeship (Bakers Trade Certificate)Licenses/Certifications: NoneOther Skills and Abilities: Bakery or comparable experience; Basic math skills Other specific requirements* If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
