Seeking an enthusiastic Furniture Finishing Apprentice for a kitchen company based in Smithfield!

NTHA in partnership with our host employer is seeking an Apprentice to complete a Certificate III in Furniture Finishing in Smithfield. We are eager to hear from you if you have an interest in woodworking and learning about a variety of equipment and the design process of quality Furniture.

Our host employer are a kitchens and bathrooms company. They do residential work for new builds and renovations, as well as some commercial work. You will learn design, manufacturing, and furniture finishing work. With this role you will be exposed to both furniture finishing and cabinetmaking which will teach you a unique & in demand skillset!

What's involved?

During the 48 month training contact you get to the learn the following:

  • How to study drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine specifications
  • Determine tool and machine requirements and sequence of operations
  • Set up woodworking machines and wood stock for correct cutting, planning, turning, shaping and sanding
  • Operate machines to cut, plane, turn, shape and sand work pieces
