SGS Academy provides consistent, effective, and high-quality training to students to ensure they are up-to-date with the skills required to perform their roles safely and confidently.

Due to increased growth and demand, we are currently seeking a Subcontract Trainer and Assessor to join our SGS Academy team. You will have the opportunity to facilitate training at our Mount Thorley and Mayfield West, NSW locations, as well as at client sites.

You will have the responsibility to develop, prepare, deliver, assess and evaluate effective training and assessments.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and prepare training and assessment sessions to ensure required resources are available to support the delivery.
  • Use and contribute to training and assessment strategies that are fair, valid, current and sufficient.
  • Deliver and coordinate training in accordance with the requirements of the training and assessment strategy using training methods that progressively instil knowledge and skills into learners.
  • Conduct assessment in accordance with the principles of assessment and the designated assessment strategy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement and acting responsively to implement agreed improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of training and assessment materials when required.
  • Participate in assessment validation activities to promote fair and reliable assessment and to maintain the alignment of assessment activities and materials with industry expectations and training package requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and undertake follow up actions as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Statement of Attainment for Confined Spaces (3 Day Course) and Working at Heights (obtained within the last 3yrs) and Low Voltage Rescue and CPR with a minimum 12 months experience delivering these courses.
  • Experience in a similar role with relevant and current engagement with industry.
  • Other qualifications and skills related to courses on SGS Australia Pty Ltd RTO ID 2646 Scope of Registration (Desirable).
  • Experience delivering TRG Hot Work and Mine Site Safety Inductions (Desirable).
  • Hold an active ABN and insurance
  • Have flexibility in work days
  • Possess a current driver's license and the ability to travel to other SGS locations and client sites, including overnight stays, as required
