This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of those affected by rare cancers. As a Health Promotion Officer, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness, promoting health initiatives, and building relationships within the community.   Reporting to the Head of Patient programs, your key responsibilities will include the following: Develop and implement health promotion strategies to raise awareness of rare cancers and promote early detection and prevention measures. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to plan and execute health promotion campaigns, events, and initiatives. Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to increase engagement and participation in health promotion activities. Conduct outreach activities, workshops, and presentations to educate the community about rare cancers, risk factors, and available support services. Create engaging educational materials, resources, and content for online and offline channels to disseminate information and drive awareness. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion activities, collect feedback, and implement improvements as needed. This role is offered with a maximum term of 3 years aligned with government funding. Furthermore, you will have a high level of adaptability, resilience, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organisational setting with a proven ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders.   To be considered for this role, you must have relevant experience, skills, knowledge of the healthcare industry, and the required qualifications/certificates. Bachelor’s degree in health promotion, public health, or a related field. Proven experience in health promotion, community engagement, or a related role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective health promotion strategies and campaigns. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Passion for making a positive impact in the community and raising awareness about rare cancers. Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and experience working with healthcare professionals is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with social media platforms and online communication tools. Experience in community engagement, event planning, and stakeholder management. Knowledge of cancer care and rare cancer issues. Have your own vehicle and be willing to undertake frequent intrastate and interstate travel.
