Currently we are seeking a pool of self-motivated, passionate individuals for the position of Peer Support Workers - Eating Disorder Services at Fremantle Hospital. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Peer Support Worker provides social, emotional, and practical support to consumers on an individual and group basis. The Peer Support Worker assists with identifying their needs for wellness, options for recovery and support to navigate their way through the mental health services towards discharge. Works from a trauma informed perspective to promote hope for recovery, choice and self-determination, and the importance of living well using shared experiential knowledge, skills, and strategies for living with mental health issues and recovery, and also provides insight and education to the multi-disciplinary team on living with a mental health issue. Experience in providing peer support to people with an eating disorder is desirable.
