About the Job We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic people leader for the position of full-time Supervisor for our petcare team at Heathcote Pet Hotel located near Waterfall, NSW. The Supervisor’s purpose is to oversee a team of passionate pet care attendants, having accountability for the overall health of the pets in our care. They will communicate with clients and supervise the safe delivery of daily tasks within the petcare team. The role is responsible to focus on quality outcomes including task allocation, securing workplace hygiene/conditions, a high level of customer service, and great employee experiences. Shifts are required to be worked during the periods 7am - 7pm, seven days per week including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays, including Christmas and Easter periods. The typical shift is 7am - 3pm with flexible shared roster options available for example, Sunday to Thursday (every Fri & Sat off); Tuesday to Sat (every Sun & Mon off). About You You are reliable, motivated, and an experienced team leader with strong communication skills and empathy for others. You have genuine affection for cats and dogs and are customer focused. Additionally, you will have: Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in operational supervision and people/team leadership roles. Demonstrated experience in energising and motivating a team through your enthusiastic and structured approach. Confidence to provide training and guidance to others, leading by example and providing positive and constructive feedback to bring out the best in your team members. Basic knowledge in animal care and enjoy being around dogs and cats. Certifications in Animal Studies and/or Companion Animal Services and/or experienced working in kennels, doggy daycare, or catteries (preferred but not essential, provided you are willing to prioritise learning these skills on the job with thorough petcare training provided). Availability to work during peak periods (school holidays / Christmas & Easter / weekends / Public Holidays). Great time management skills, and successfully plan your own time as well as being able to assist others to plan and prioritise their workload. Excellent communication and a positive attitude, who gets job satisfaction from leading others to achieve their individual and team goals. A current, unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence (and clean driving record). Commitment to working safely and following Standard Operating Procedures. Willingness and ability to always adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels’ operating procedures and work health and safety requirements. IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel. In addition to basic administrative work, the incumbent will primarily be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions, and hands on with cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person, over the phone, and online, and occasionally take difficult conversations, including providing feedback and receiving complaints, in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
