Electorate Officer A - Mr Aaron Violi MP

Applications are invited for the position of Electorate Officer in the office of Aaron Violi MP in the Casey electorate.  This position is full time ongoing, and will work from the office based in Lilydale in Victoria. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: General administrative tasks within the electorate office. Receiving and co-ordinating constituent enquiries including written correspondence, telephone enquiries and assisting with issues campaigns Assisting with constituent casework Researching and writing Ministerial representations Data entry and database management Attend constituent meetings Assist with events and activities across the electorate as required Maintenance of contacts database Attending electorate events with the Member Other duties as directed by the Office Manager or the Member. The ideal applicant should possess the following skills and experience: Well-developed office and IT skills including Microsoft Office An ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of people; Excellent attention to detail An understanding of Australia’s system of government and parliamentary processes beneficial but not essential; Strong sense of professional conduct and discretion  Organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines; Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work as part of a strong and loyal team Experience in a similar administrative role or previous work in political office will be highly regarded but is not essential.  Employment Conditions: The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 which include: A commencing salary between $69-$73K will be negotiated depending on relevant skills and experience. An optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work. An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable A probationary period of 3 months will apply and may be subject to extension.
