Payroll Officer - 12 Month Contract

This role is a 12 month contract to cover Maternity Leave. We are looking for someone on a full-time basis, however for the right candidate there is the potential for flexibility. We will offer you 5 days each week to kick start your training and get you ready to take on your first pay run, because let's be honest, you know your stuff, you love payroll and you can't wait to start owning your new role. Are you ready? So, what does the role look like? We run a fortnightly payroll and you will use Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft and Kronos regularly. If you have had this past experience, then we encourage you to apply. You must have the ability to move between multiple systems and remember where to go next time you complete that task; this will also be highly regarded. We should also point out that this is not a data entry Payroll position. You will need to understand the Enterprise Agreement and the rules behind certain calculations. You will rarely calculate things manually, but you will review the data and be expected to speak up when something doesn't look or sound right. There is however a lot of late changes so quick thinking, urgency, attention to detail and good judgement are some of the key competencies we are looking for. What you will look like? If you have worked in a casino or hospitality industry or any industry with a moderately complex Enterprise Agreement, we would love to see your CV. However, we understand that the best applicant doesn't always have the industry experience so any Payroll background will be looked upon favourably. In the end, the cultural fit and the ability to get along and have a laugh with team mates is equally important. We can teach you the ins and outs of the industry, if you're interested and willing to learn. You will however need to love Payroll, we can't teach you that. What's in it for you?
