About the Role

Downer’s Water Engineering Team has a vacancy for a Deign Manager / Senior Design Manager to join our group based in our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Reporting to the Water Engineering Director and working collaboratively within a multi-discipline team, this position will provide technical expertise on the design requirements specific to our Water Utilities project group.

The ideal person will have a genuine passion for leading teams as well as sharing their extensive knowledge of the design management processes. As an experienced leader you will work towards building the capability of the design team amongst those in the Design Delivery team, and Engineers in technical teams.

Our Requirements for This Role Are

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline
  • EA Membership Desirable
  • 10 years plus of experience in engineering / post degree completion
  • Proven experience in technical management through all project delivery phases
  • Previous experience leading a team of design engineers with a focus on water projects
  • Genuine passion for strong quantitative management of design packages and design projects with a focus on systemised recording of deliverables lists, progress tracking and forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to build and establish networks both internally and externally whilst gaining the credibility and trust of the operational delivery teams.
