Our First Nations Internship Program is designed to provide students from an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background with meaningful work on projects including projects supporting Indigenous community. Our internship programs are designed to develop skills and potentially lead to a graduate role in the future.  About the Program  Aimed at penultimate year* university students, this program provides Australian First Nations university students an opportunity to work on projects including those that support Indigenous communities and to connect in with First Nations leaders in business.   Providing comprehensive learning and industry experience aligned to your chosen field of study, and opportunities for you to give back to the community through high-impact, meaningful and purpose-led projects.  *Penultimate year: Second-year students of a three-year degree; or, Third-year students of a four-year degree etc. We are flexible with eligibility so feel free to apply as usual for a discussion.  What you can expect  Connectivity  Alongside formal mentoring and professional development, you’ll have opportunities to connect and share perspectives with First Nations leadership and employee groups, providing an invaluable voice on Deloitte’s First Nations strategy and business matters that impact First Nations communities.  Community  The program will provide students with meaningful opportunities to connect and give back to local Indigenous communities.  As part of this, you’ll work on a projects that contribute to First Nations cultural matters. You’ll connect with others across the Firm, including Senior Leaders, and members of the community whilst developing key skills in the art of storytelling and listening.  Program Eligibility   Our First Nations Program is right for you if:  You are of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent You are ideally a penultimate year student (expecting to graduate in 2025)  Our program for 2024 has opportunities in Consulting Climate & Sustainability, Workforce Transformation, Infrastructure & Project Solutions, and Deloitte Access Economics teams. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.  Along with supplying your CV and documents relating to your university degree, our team may ask that you support your application with a confirmation of heritage/eligibility at a later stage of the selection process - our team will be in touch to advise further on this.  Internship start:   Flexible dates in either July 2024 or November 2024.    Tax and other benefits/implications Internship payments will contribute to the recipient’s taxable income and may also impact entitlement to Commonwealth benefits such as ABSTUDY.
