Chefs / Cooks

The Australian Hotel is currently seeking experienced and energetic Chefs / Cooks to join our kitchen team located in St. George, Queensland.

About Us: Located 6 hours west of Brisbane, St George is a picturesque town with a population of 2,400 people.

The Australian Hotel Motel is located on the banks of the Balonne River and is popular with tourists and backpackers as a place to visit as they journey around Queensland.

Our kitchen is open 7 days a week.

The Role: As a Chef / Cook, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking food
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding garnishes and sauces
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared in a timely manner
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook and present a rangeof dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation
• Assisting with menu changes when required

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• experience within a fast paced commercial kitchen
• Availability to work any hospitality hours
• Ability to work well under a high pressure environment
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery preferred but not essential

Benefits :

• Full time salary between $55,000 - $75,000 depending on experience
