The CompanyOur client is a dynamic and growth-oriented $80million turnover private equity-backed business, operating in the consulting space. Due to continued growth, the organisation is about to embark on a journey to build their in-house finance function and are in the market to hire an established Finance Manager to report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a permanent opportunity based in Melbourne's CBD with hybrid, flexible working arrangements. The RoleReporting into the CFO, your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements.Manage the annual external audit process, liaising with external auditors and coordinating audit activities to ensure timely completion and compliance with audit standards.Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.Provide guidance and support to the accounting team in resolving complex accounting issues and implementing accounting standards updates.Lead the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to strengthen financial reporting processes and mitigate risk.Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions.Mentor and develop team members, providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and training to enhance their skills and capabilities.Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support business initiatives and drive process improvements.Your ProfileQualified Accountant (CA, CPA, or equivalent) with 10+ years professional experience.Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field;Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements, with experience in managing external audits.Experience managing a team of direct reports, with proven leadership and mentoring skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.If you are a motivated and analytical individual looking to take the next step in your finance career, we encourage you to apply for the Finance Manager position today!
