About the role As a Gallery Assistant you will provide exceptional customer service to Gallery visitors, and support the delivery of Gallery operations, services and programming. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Providing support to Gallery staff and services including, but not limited to, visitor engagement, front of house administration, programs and events, onsite and offsite children’s programming, Collection and exhibition support Provision of gallery supervision in the public gallery spaces, engaging with visitors, retail assistance and providing information/assistance with exhibits Assisting with the implementation of Gallery and Foundation functions and events About you To be successful in this role you will have: An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership Relevant experience and/or education/training in Art History and/or Visual Arts or Arts Education Demonstrated experience in customer service, preferably in a cultural facility Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including children Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team within a leading cultural facility Working with Children Check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card A pre-employment medical will be required for this role View the Position Description for more details about the role. About the benefits This is a casual role at Level 2 with an attractive salary commencing at $43.92 per hour (including loading) plus superannuation of up to 11.5%.
