  About the role Join our dynamic ICT Operations Infrastructure Team as Network Engineer.  In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that Ipswich City Council’s network and communication infrastructure is resilient, secure, and reliable. Your expertise will be crucial in integrating physical, virtual, cloud, and wireless network services, as well as driving continuous improvement projects. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Innovative Network Design : Architect and implement cutting-edge network solutions, including LAN, WAN, WiFi, SD-WAN, SD-LAN, and cloud-based networks Seamless Installation : Oversee the installation and optimal configuration of network hardware and software, maintaining precise documentation Performance Monitoring : Ensure network reliability and efficiency by monitoring performance, capacity, and availability, and preparing detailed reports Robust Security : Implement and manage network security protocols, perform security audits, and mitigate risks to protect against cyber threats Project Collaboration : Contribute to network-related projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with departments, vendors, and service providers to align network solutions with organizational goals View the position description for more details about the role. About you Contribute to our ICT team with your:  Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in Information Technology or a related field Proven experience in secure network design and administration Significant experience in a network operational and engineering role supporting large, complex, multiple interconnected physical sites, cloud infrastructures, and service providers Knowledge of both current and emerging network and communications infrastructure, applications, principles, standards, and services Demonstrated experience managing network projects Communication skills to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and teams About the benefits This is a permanent, full time position at level 7 with a salary commencing at $110,575 plus 12.5% superannuation.
