The Role

An exciting new opportunity has become available for an Events Manager to join our busy team in Sydney. The Events Manager will lead our key events calendar across the Supply Chain network. The event calendar includes leading a significant number of programs throughout the calendar year, leading our frontline communications, coordination of our executive and international visits, and arranging all peak planning and award and ceremony celebrations. It’s a varied role requiring someone who can work fast, juggle many deadlines and who is a great collaborator.

The Key Responsibilities include;

  • Leading and managing our events calendar across Supply Chain
  • Leading our yearly events calendar end to end including post event reviews
  • Leading the coordination of our peak planning cadence across events such as Christmas, Easter, and Australia Day
  • Leading the coordination of all award ceremonies, such as Distribution Centre Service Awards, Customer Service & Supply Chain award nominations and any other significant achievements and milestones
  • Leading the coordination of all internal and external special events such as European visits
  • Leading the coordination of any branding changes required across the Australia/Pacific Business unit
  • Leading through the governance portfolio, coordination of the cadence, timelines, and milestones
  • Supporting site operational readiness plans through our frontline communication plans ready for BAU performance
  • Supporting the coaching and development within our Operational Excellence team and BU teams

Career Experience

  • 2+ years in event management with a proven track record of successful delivery outcomes
  • Proven ability to coordinate large functions across several business units
  • Proven ability to operate within a business partnering model
  • Experience in Supply Chain, understating the peak season requirements
  • Proven ability to influence and be an effective communicator and facilitator within a team
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Experience in developing and implementing sustainable event frameworks
  • Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Leadership and management skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Aptitude for working within a very busy, dynamic working environment, with the ability to manage multiple activities at any one time whilst delivering the needs of the team
  • Capable of consistently producing high quality work and maintaining sustained attention to detail
  • Ability to identify, plan and manage a set of activities to enable delivery of events within set timescales
  • Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders, demonstrating confidence in engaging at all levels to reach an acceptable result, and escalate when required
  • Works effectively within a team environment to achieve a common goal
