Maxima, in partnership with the Redland City Council, are looking for an outdoor enthusiast to get their hands dirty and complete a Nursery Operations apprenticeship.

The Redland City Council is located within the Southeast region of Brisbane and are known for their relaxed coastal lifestyle and attractions. With a mission of ‘Make a Difference. Make it Count.’, the Redland City Council are committed to implementing a range of projects to deliver environmental and economic benefits to its 100,000 residents.

This role will see you working fulltime across 3-years gaining hands on practical experience and studying towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Nursery Operations. By working across a diverse range of areas, this opportunity will open the door to several rewarding career pathways and lifelong skills!

Key Responsibilities :

• Weed and pest control
• Garden maintenance including mulching, pruning, and watering
• Landscaping tasks including paving, irrigation, and soil management
• Collect and propagate seeds
• Implement vegetation works
• Retail and customer service

We’re looking for individuals who :

• Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools
• Are committed, reliable and hardworking
• Manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
• Work effectively in a team with good communication skills
• Have a can-do attitude, and display initiative
• Are able to follow directions and work under limited supervision

Role Requirements :

• Provisional or full driver’s licence
• Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
• Great customer service
• Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
• Previous experience in gardening or similar trade advantageous
