The Opportunity As the Enterprise Architect, you will report to the Head of Data & Applications and work closely with Head of Technology to provide thought leadership on enterprise application and cloud architecture. You will play a pivotal role in aligning the business strategic vision with our technology by developing and maintaining data architecture standards, policies, and best practices. This role involves understanding all aspects of the company's architecture and ensuring that the business's technological systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and support our goals. You will: * Provide thought leadership and guidance on enterprise applications and cloud architecture principles * Collaborate with stakeholders, business representatives, and technical resources to understand and translate business needs into technology solutions * Identify system interdependencies and collaborate with project teams to ensure effective and efficient project delivery. * Ensure that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions lead to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology. * Monitor and analyse IT trends and developments to ensure architecture is kept up to date. * Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities * Develop and maintain the design of the data landscape, data management components, data platform, and analytical components, adopting security best practices * Develop & maintain organisation wide Architecture diagrams, technical documentation & code repos * Support the Head of Data & Applications in identifying ongoing revenue/commercialisation opportunities for the company * Understand business problems and desired outcomes to design data architecture that are efficient & scalable; able to present these solutions to business stakeholders * Keeping up to date with the latest innovations in the sector including digital twins, artificial intelligence, and other digital technologies that can be applied at Urbis and Cistri * Mentor junior members of Technology & Digital team & contribute to technical leadership and team culture that supports knowledge sharing, innovation and excellence * Sharing knowledge and 'how to' processes within the team through ongoing learning and development, including the preparation of process documentation About You: * Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Computer Science or Data Science * At least 5 years' experience in data management with proficiency in Microsoft Azure Cloud computing platform (specifically Synapse); Expert Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect and/or Azure DevOps Engineer) desirable * Proficiency with SQL, Python * Demonstrable experience and proficiency with strong technical skills in Enterprise Architecture design & management * Strong Understanding of data governance and taxonomy * A passion for the application of data to urban design and planning, with an understanding of the complexities of urban systems * Experience with process improvement methodologies in data management * A background in technical consulting is desirable.
