Medical Receptionist

We seeking a Medical receptionist who is energetic, enthusiastic and committed to help manage the front desk and to provide effective, efficient and exceptional customer service for our busy Medical Centre and Skin Cancer Clinic. Reporting to the practice manager, your primary responsibilities will be to provide receptionist services to our patients and medical professionals.

The successful applicant will be someone who enjoys customer service and enjoys being part of a busy team and who is efficient, professional, caring and dedicated to patient well-being and confidentiality.

This position requires an average of 15-20hrs per week. However, from time to time the Medical Receptionist may be required to work reasonable additional hours, depending on the needs of the practice.

Experience and Key Responsibilities :

  • Previous experience working in a similar healthcare role desirable
  • Prioritising care
  • Triaging patients and monitoring waiting room
  • Provide a high standard of administrative support to our patients and GP's
  • Answering telephone calls in a timely manner, scheduling of appointments and enquiries
  • Welcoming and greeting patients in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Knowledge of general practice Medicare billings and Private Billing, experience with Zedmed software desirable.
  • General administrative/reception tasks associated to role
  • All other general daily administrative duties as required for the role
  • Scanning
  • Housekeeping
  • Experience with EFTPOS, Tyro and Medicare billing procedures desirable

  • Fluent in written and spoken English language
  • Proficient computer skills essential.
  • High levels of motivation and reliability
  • Must have flexibility to be able to cover sick and annual leave of co-workers
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities including assistance with obtaining accreditation for the practice
  • Must have full Australian working rights
