IP recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join one of our manufacturing clients as a Leading Hand. This is a hands on role in a fast paced environment that will require you to carry out a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

• Handle day-to-day general maintenance issues both building and plant & equipment.
• Improve services and or reducing costs through continuous improvement opportunities.
• Liaise with operations to plan all shutdowns and project work to minimise downtime and maximise the availability of plant.
• Maximise line efficiencies through the establishment of an effective maintenance program and developing strong working relationships with production team.
• Order relevant materials and services to carry out maintenance required.
• Perform diagnostics, determine, and implement root cause corrections and carry out repairs of plant & machinery in a timely manner.

To be considered for this role all applicants will need to meet the following criteria:

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• A current Forklift (LF) licence
• Ability to be “hands on” with all factory maintenance issues.
• Ability to build relationships and partner closely with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage project handover lead times and to problem solve quickly and effectively.
• Display flexibility with operations and maintenance
• Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Good computer skills
• High attention to detail
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• Purchasing and procurement experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Job Type : Casual

Salary : $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
• Penalty rates

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kewdale, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
