We are organised by business outcomes, with dedicated teams aligned to Metals, Energy and Group, and supported by common services and foundational platforms.

The Group Technology Portfolio is focussed on the strategic support of Fortescue Metals and Energy stakeholder groups who leverage enterprise-wide technology capabilities across several business value streams. The Group Technology portfolio is comprised of many strategic technology projects and products that straddle both the Metals and Energy business, most often leveraged in a shared capacity.

The Manager Group Technology Portfolio is a key leadership role responsible for leading a cross-functional team to successfully deliver a complex portfolio of digital technology initiatives, products and services that enable Fortescue broader strategic goals. It is expected to be visible and engaged throughout the portfolio and interfaces directly with all levels of leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage composition of the portfolio, monitor high-level progress, resolve conflicting portfolio priorities and manage portfolio risk and issues.
  • Continuous improvement of the Group technology portfolio management processes
  • Work across the Group technology leadership team to facilitate strategic and operational planning for the portfolio, making sure that all efforts are strategically aligned, and value is prioritized.
  • Oversee delivery of major projects ensuring they are prioritized, resourced, and delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Support business leaders to align on priorities, standards, investments, integrated roadmaps, and success measurements.
  • Facilitate and enable common ways of working across the Group Technology team.
  • Monitor and report on performance across the portfolio and provide transparency to the total investment.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience leading teams to successfully deliver digital technology-enabled transformational programs/projects working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Certifications in Portfolio, Program, Project Management Frameworks (e.g. PMBoK, MoP, MSP, Prince2) is required
  • Certification in Agile Frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Scaled Agile)
  • Proven experience using Agile, Iterative, Human-centered Design, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex project initiatives.
  • Proven experience in translating strategic goals and portfolio objectives into actionable and integrated plans and roadmaps.
  • Experience in managing ERP programs or complex ERP projects (highly desirable)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sophisticated change management capabilities, including the ability to lead and manage through change.
  • Sound understanding of financial management, planning, and reporting.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing business needs by optimising workforce capacity, skills, opportunities, and deployment.
