Job Description : About this opportunity

We specialise in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors. This role is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality and Food Safety Management system across two sites

  • Laverton and Braeside.

As Quality Manager supporting and providing advice accross multisites,you will be accountable for monitoring and driving compliance to meet certification and PACT Group requirements. Working closely with Site leaders, this role provides expertise,maintains and improves all Pre-Requisite Program activities to ensure that Quality is implemented and conducted to prescribed standards.

Your key responsibilities will be to :

  • Comply with Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain quality standards, specifications, and process control plans to facilitate the manufacture of packaging that meets customer expectations
  • Own and advise on the QC/QA process to ensure all products comply with customers’ expectations
  • Support operations with QC/QA data analytics and identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead problem solving teams for customer complaints and internal quality issues. Ensure roots causes are identified and improvement addressed
  • Lead external audits (customer and certification) and ensure successful outcomes for the business
  • Build a quality scorecard to drive a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Develop Quality responsibility at all operational levels at the sites, mentoring the team to continually improve the quality culture
  • Be a promoter of using Pact systems for managing Quality and problem solving
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to continually improve Quality through related functions. This particularly includes Equipment Reliability, Safety, Planning, Procurement and Distribution

Your skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Manufacturing or Engineering required or extensive Quality Management Experience.
  • Internal audit qualification preferred.
  • HACCP/ Food Safety qualification desirable.
  • Extensive experience as a Quality Manager in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Quality thought leadership and provision of advice on best practice accross sites
  • Experience managing sites certified to at least two of the following standards. ISO9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, CODEX HACCP.
  • Proven people leadership to drive quality improvements with a collaborative and enabling approach.
  • Visible belief and demonstrated leadership in a Zero Harm culture
  • Ability to remain resilient, calm and composed when under pressure.
  • Ability to engage and influence others.
