About The Role: Compare the Market is on the lookout for a talented Design Team Lead to join our in-house marketing agency “Meerkat Studios”. Reporting to the General Manager of Brand you'll lead the design team, setting strategic direction and fostering a creative environment. Your role will involve guiding design processes, mentoring team members, and ensuring that our design initiatives align with business goals and user needs. As the Design Team Lead, you will be hands-on, providing expertise in design strategy, and contributing to the overall vision and development of our user experience and interface. This is a unique opportunity to blend strategic leadership with practical design execution, making a significant impact on our brand and customer experience. What You’ll Do: Lead the design team in crafting captivating advertising designs and visual assets across print, digital, social media, and other marketing channels. Create impactful designs based on briefs, confidently articulating your creative process and ensuring alignment with the project requirements. Collaborate closely with marketing, brand, and other stakeholders to grasp business needs and objectives, then translate these into compelling creative solutions. Provide design direction, feedback, and mentorship to team members, driving skill development and elevating the overall quality of the team’s work. Design materials for in-house events as required by the People & Culture team. Review and approve all design deliverables to ensure they adhere to brand guidelines, style standards, and project specifications. Stay current with design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to infuse innovative approaches into the team’s projects. In consultation with the GM of Brand, set annual KPIs for team members that align with departmental and business objectives. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members, track progress against KPIs, and carry out mid-year and end-of-year KPI reviews. Foster a positive, collaborative team culture that promotes creativity, professional growth, and ongoing improvement. Implement the Company’s risk management, governance, compliance, and accountability systems across all activities, including staying up-to-date with Company policies and completing mandatory training. Enhance the effectiveness of the Leadership Team through proactive engagement, collaboration, and alignment with peers, contributing to successful negotiations and overall team synergy. What You’ll Bring: Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with motion design tools like After Effects. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or similar. Excellent visual design skills with a strong command of typography, colour theory, composition, and layout principles. Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into creative, on-brand design solutions. Strong project management and problem-solving skills to juggle multiple concurrent projects. Effective communicator, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
