The role The Product Owner contributes to product outcomes by ensuring that the requirements of the Business and the needs of the End-Users are clearly articulated to the End-to-End Development Team, so that the developed solutions meet all stakeholder’s needs and are in line with the strategic goals of the organisation. The Product Owner is responsible for managing and optimizing the product backlog in order to maximize the value of the product. The Product Owner's works collaborating with cross-functional matrix teams (e.g. Delivery Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, Testers, Project Managers and Change Analysts) to ensure that the product delivers value to the Claims & Assessing Division in line with the agreed delivery roadmap. Achieve specific business performance outcomes through the design and delivery of customer and business-focused solutions to incrementally improve our insurance claims processes within a complex regulatory environment. To be the voice of the Business within the Enablement Team and provide strategic direction and clarity of purpose to the delivery resources. Demonstrate execution excellence in Agile methodology, build constructive and professional relationships to engage and influence across the organisation. Work closely with the Key Stakeholders, Change Delivery Managers and Business Analysts to define scope and measures of success. Engage with Stakeholders from across the Business to ensure the suitability, compliance and success of proposed solutions. Work closely with Business Analysts, SMEs and the Development Teams to create clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria from which applications and solutions are developed or business processes are defined. In conjunction with the Delivery Managers, manage risks, issues and dependencies between backlog items and multiple Stakeholders. Execute optimal and timely delivery of prioritised initiatives in conjunction with Leaders across Technology, Digital, Product and Claims & Assessing. Ensure the Development Team understands the product backlog and business value to successfully deliver each sprint/ increment / initiative, with a focus on regular value drops. Take responsibility for planning and organisation of sprint backlogs, ensuring there are well groomed and pointed sprints. The goal is to have at least three sprints planned and one future sprint pointed. Active participation and facilitation of ceremonies in partnership with the Scrum Master, Change Delivery Manager and the End-to-End Enablement Team Ensure customer, business or compliance affecting bugs are addressed and escalated as appropriate. Actively participate, contribute and execute against a Community of Practice to ensure alignment across Product Owner roles in the delivery process. Where applicable, ensure initiatives have quantified benefits with key metrics to track performance, benefit realisation, including estimation of return on investment. What experience you’ll bring A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Product Owner/Technical Product Manager (for external applicants) or a minimum of 3 years working at A&G (for internal applicants) Experience in stakeholder engagement & management Good communication skills are essential. Knowledge and/or experience of General Insurance or Financial Services highly regarded.
