The people who walk through our doors experience brokenness and more than often are suffering homelessness, have or are experiencing domestic violence, marriage breakdown and financial stress. Each story and circumstance is different, however the one thing that unites each of these situations and people is the lack of hope they are experiencing. It is here where our team helps to build up every person from where they are, offering hope, care and practical support that takes into account all of the needs that are relevant to a person’s circumstances.  We’re about going beyond the basic needs and look at a person’s whole situation, addressing their physical, spiritual and emotional needs. About the role: As a Client Support Worker, you will primarily be involved in providing high-quality person-centred care and support to the clients in the Community Centre as well as assist the Manager and team, where required, in the enhancement of client support services. About you: The successful candidate will have: Experience working with people living with disadvantage and in high need communities Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promote the organisation’s values through interactions at work Ability to demonstrate, lead and promote BaptistCare Purpose and Values Strong interpersonal skills for establishing relationships and building trust developed through responsiveness, consistency and listening empathically Ability to adapt to a dynamic and diverse community environment Ability to work individually and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to foster effective working relationships with wider local networks Works within the principles of capacity building and understanding the impact of trauma, and has developing competencies in advocacy Commitment to WHS and Infection Control policies About Us: BaptistCare is a leading for-purpose Christian-based care organisation that supports thousands of people across more than 100 locations in NSW, ACT and WA.
