Dongwha Australia is a soft wood Timber Mill located on the far South Coast of NSW in Bombala just 2 hours south of Canberra.

An exciting new position has arisen within Dongwha Australia for a highly motivated and hard-working individual that is looking to further develop their existing skill set.

This position is a vital part of our Purchasing team, responsible for looking after all the incoming/outgoing products for a large site of approximately 100 employees. Due to our industry, time management is crucial and the ability to think quickly and work independently are necessary skills.

The successful applicant will ideally have relevant experience working within a small team environment and understand the value of effective communication.

They will be a key member of our team, reporting directly to their supervisor but regularly liaising with all departments. On the job training will be provided for the successful applicant with regular support from management.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage the end-to-end purchasing process from creating purchasing orders to invoicing, i.e. closure.
  • Source all items for the business including but not limited to; stationery, consumables, strapping, chemical, maintenance equipment etc.
  • Seek reliable vendors who supply quality goods at reasonable prices and who deliver on time while considering service, quality and business requirements.
  • Liaise with contractors/suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Actively engage in internal and external stakeholder management, through effective and regular communication to ensure a streamlined process.
  • Provide strategic, operational and commercial procurement advice to stakeholders in the development and implementation of procurement activities.

Qualifications & experience

  • Experience in a purchasing/procurement related role (desirable but not essential)
  • High customer service standards
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office & ERP/SAP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great time management skills
  • Forklift Ticket (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously
