Any plumbing, electrical or carpentry qualifications will be looked upon favourably - White Card - First Aid - Manual Handling - C Class Full License essential (any higher license or plant tickets are preferred) Position Summary : Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation (MCAC) is the representative body for the Anangu residents of Mutitjulu. It is recognized in the lease which establishes Uluru Kata-Tjuta National Park (UKTNP) and has a special place in the history of land rights in Australia. Mutitjulu has a population of up to 400 and has unique opportunities and challenges due to its location within UKTNP. About the Role Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation (MCAC) provides services and programs to the community with social, economical and cultural benefits. These include the Municipal program, the Housing maintenance program, the Community Safety and Night Patrol program, the Mutitjulu Ranger program and a range of other Community projects. MCAC's business arm Gumlake owns the Ininti Cafe, Walkatjara Art and Ininti Store. Both MCAC and Gumlake are not-for-profit entities and all profits are returned to the Community The Housing Maintenance Coordinator is directly responsible for regular and ongoing maintenance of all Housing assets and Infrastructure obligations across Mutitjulu, Imanpa & Kalkukatjara communities.* Contract subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance (NPC) and a Working with Children's Clearance (WWCC). Key Requirements : - Hands-on approach to Housing Maintenance tasks - Excellent communication and engagement skills as well as experience in dealing with remote aboriginal communities - Experience in leading a culturally diverse team and ability to teach on-the-job skills (as applicable) - Sound written verbal and computer skills - C class license manual essential; any higher license or plant tickets are preferred - Proficient and confident operation of plant and machinery - Knowledge of the industry with any plumbing, electrical, or carpentry qualifications looked upon favourably - Has experience in building effective relationships with clients and staff - Proven ability to analyse processes and ensure continuous improvement to avoid mistakes - A systematic approach to business operations to avoid mistakes and to report near misses - Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to a high standard - Persistent approach to time management - High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and resourcefulness - Excellent planning, organisation ability to work in line with clients' requirements - A high degree of accountability and attention to detail - Proficiency in MS Office software Job Responsibility : - Directly responsible for the regular and ongoing maintenance of all housing assets in Mutitjulu, Imanpa, and Kaltukatjara - Meet or exceed monthly budget targets, ensuring appropriate spending to maintain housing to agreed standards - Visit all Housing assets in all 3 communities on a fortnightly basis - Liaise and engage with tenants, residents, stakeholders, and NT Housing on a regular basis - Lead and mentor a culturally diverse team - Provide high-level reporting to NT Housing every month - Encourage and provide on-the-job training for local staff where possible - Meet property inspection requirements & maintenance timelines in accordance with the NT Housing Framework - Strong client relationship and people management skills, with the proven ability to develop trust and credibility - Deliver to set quality controls and job fulfillment as set by the client / s - Work closely with customers and any team members to deliver operational benchmarks - Ensuring that all activity levels required to deliver performance indicators are met - Follow up with customers and staff issues as they arise with management as well as any plant / vehicle / machine issues as necessary or required. - Ensure all Plant and Machinery are left fit for use for any employees and secure to prevent vandalism / theft - Have an understanding of the job requirements for themselves, and any team members - Ability to complete what is asked of them in an efficient manner as well as able to direct any team members with their tasks - Works safely using initiative, asks questions when not sure, presents on time and has good communication skills - Provides relevant feedback to clients and management Job Functions : Maintenance Maintenance Job Benefits : Salary sacrifice available & Subsidised Housing provided Selling Point : Located inside the Uluru Kata-Tjuta National Park.
