The role of our Expense Advisor will be to complete routine expense analysis tasks for our Data Centres within a limited scope. You will develop knowledge on expense analysis through coaching, instruction and practical experience and become a vital member of cross-connecting teams.

Expense Advisor : This position offers significant room for progression in the Expense team and Equinix actively promotes career development and internal promotions. The position is available due to an internal promotion where the incumbent has moved into a different team within Equinix.

Experience with Oracle, Coupa and Power BI (or other similar systems) would be advantageous or else the ability to pick up new systems and software efficiently. The role offers hybrid working conditions and general flexibility and autonomy, so we would be looking for someone who can work well unsupervised but also be an excellent communicator.

Key Responsibilities : Procure to Pay Process

  • Creates Purchase Requisitions for the country/region expenses within a limited scope
  • Monitors purchase order quality and provides critical metric reporting in order to improve process
  • Works with requestors to make sure POs receipted correctly and timely
  • Updates dedication values vs. POs &, working with Ops Finance/General Ledger, assesses what commitments have not been made vs. budget
  • Ensures compliance of Purchase Requests, all required contracts/legal approvals, accounting codes and competitive bids
  • Contacts vendor for invoices where vital
  • Solves billing/invoice problems related to the country/region expenses

Budget Management and Reporting :

  • Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from IBX Operations teams, undertakes ad hoc analysis to help drive forecast adjustments
  • Responsible for running and providing commitment tracking reporting to IBX teams, supporting Ops finance on month end reporting, variance commentary, and supporting the accrual process
  • Generate KPI reporting around Ops tasks completion and accuracy (such as receipting)

Business Relationships :

  • Key touch point for Ops team on finance admin related queries
  • Supports vendors as key point of contact for query resolution management working closely with Accounts Payable team
  • Works to support Ops finance on budget, forecast and month end deliverables
  • Acts as the link between the business and finance to meet commitments

Financial Problem Solving :

  • Solves routine problems including investigating actual vs. forecast variances
  • Assists in month end accrual process
  • Provides analysis and performs simple ad hoc duties as required
  • Provides recommendations for process improvement/efficiency gain

The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a largely autonomous role but is an excellent communicator and well organised as the position works closely with many different parts of the business.
