What You Will Be Doing

Our Allied Health Assistants are an essential and valued part of our occupational therapy teams across Peninsula Health. You will work closely with the acute occupational therapists to promote excellent clinical care, interventions and discharges. This role is predominantly based at Frankston Public Surgical Centre, where elective surgeries are performed. The caseload primarily includes orthopaedics, however you will have the opportunity to work with patients who have undergone other surgeries, as well as to provide support at other Peninsula Health inpatient sites. Our AHAs play a significant role in the sourcing and provision of equipment, therapy programs and patient education.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance from an RTO.
  • Experience working in acute or sub-acute inpatient setting (student experience included)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.
  • Ability to provide individual therapy and education to patients as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
