About The Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health & Safety Superintendent to join our Cataby mining operation. The Cataby mining operation is located near the Town of Dandaragan, approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth. The position is offered on a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) basis, on a family-friendly 5/2 4/3 roster. Step into the world of DIDO, where convenience meets comfort. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for strategically leading the Health and Safety team to deliver best practice outcomes in health, safety, occupational hygiene, and injury management/prevention. The role involves providing leadership through effective coaching, mentoring, and high levels of communication, engagement, and influence. Specific responsibilities will be: - Establish, lead, and monitor safety, health, and occupational hygiene programs and systems - Drive the continuous improvement of safety, health, and occupational hygiene practices - Lead and mentor a team of multi-disciplinary technical professionals to ensure optimal mining and processing activities - Maintain compliance with statutory obligations and regulators - Oversee the management of workers' compensation, injury prevention, and injury management processes - Manage and audit the site compliance with the Group HSEC Standards & Procedures - Lead and facilitate incident investigations, including ICAMs - Review and analyse completed investigations to ensure that contributing factors and root causes are identified ,and corrective actions are appropriate to prevent recurrence - Develop, implement and manage an appropriate First Response capability to meet the sites needs About You To be successful in the role, you will have: - Degree in Health and Safety or equivalent with a thorough understanding of leading practice H&S; management techniques - Significant experience in the mining industry - A track record in achieving high levels of safety, health and occupational hygiene performance - In-depth understanding and application of WA mining legislation - Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills at all levels Our Offer To You - Family-friendly roster - Great camp facilities - Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture - Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave - Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave - Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures - Company share matching scheme You will be supported, empowered, included and encouraged to be the best version of yourself.
