About Us: Directions Workforce Solutions works in partnership with host employers across all industries and disciplines to develop and upskill the next generation to become qualified and skilled tradespeople. Our client, Iluka Resources, an international mineral sands company with expertise in exploration, mining, processing, and land rehabilitation is seeking an apprentice mechanical fitter to join the hard-working team at their Cataby operations. About the role: You will work as part of a professional team, assisting qualified tradespeople in duties such as fitting, assembly, manufacturing, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, maintenance and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery. This will be a highly sought-after apprenticeship and successful candidates must possess the following minimum requirements. To be successful for this role you will: - Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a relevant right to work visa - Have completed, at a minimum, year 10 - Be at least 17 years of age - Have a can-do attitude, be reliable, passionate, and self-motivated to succeed - Have strong communication and interpersonal skills - Be committed to your on-the-job learning and formal off-the-job training - Possess strong safety awareness - Have a current National Police Clearance; or will obtain one prior to offer of employment being made - Hold a current Driver’s Licence - Have the ability to pass and complete a vigorous 3-step onboarding process which includes pre-employment medical, and drug and alcohol testing - Have completed a mechanical pre-apprenticeship (desirable) - Be local to Cataby or surrounding areas (desirable) On offer to employees: - Above Award pay rates - Full time hours with allowances paid - Comprehensive work and learning experiences - Specialised on-going mentoring from industry trained professionals - Employee benefit program Roster: Fulltime 9-day fortnight progressing to a swing roster of 7 days on, 7 days off Accommodation: Accommodation can be provided to the successful candidate if they do not live locally Candidates must be available throughout the recruitment process which will include completing: - Application form with cover letter to be submitted addressing the essential criteria - Aptitude testing - Initial interview - Second round interview - Full pre-employment medical screening and functional assessment including drug and alcohol testing To Apply: If you find this opportunity appealing, APPLY NOW!
