About Meningie Bakery Located 150km from Adelaide on the south-east coast of South Australia, Meningie Bakery is a locally owned & operated business. We have high quality standards and produce our own delicious pies, sweets and bread. We are an exceptionally busy little bakery. Job Overview We are searching for a highly motivated, senior baker to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be working alongside 2 other qualified bakers and 1 apprentice. Baking shifts for each week commence Sunday evening and finish in the early hours of Friday morning. We are looking for someone who has knowledge & experience baking pies, bread and sweets. Responsibilities and duties: - Mix, prepare, shape and bake dough and/or pastry - Operate mixers, scales, pastry roller, fryer, stove, oven and other high risk equipment in a safe manner - Decorate, bake and present sweets - Ordering of produce and raw materials to maintain stock levels - Unpack, sort, refill and organise stock when delivered - Maintain a clean working environment at all times - Oversee, direct and assist apprentices to develop skills/techniques - Plan and prioritise baking schedule to ensure product is cooked and cooled on time to be packed and transported - Maintain consistency in quality of product - Adhere to food handling and food safety standards / policies - Comply with OH&S; regulations Skills and requirements: - Qualification in baking (Trade certificate III or equivalent) - Have prior baking experience of 5+ years - Must be able to work full-time - Must have working rights in Australia - Have a positive and respectful attitude - Be able to work well in a team environment - Strong communication skills - An eye for detail and consistency - Organised and able to plan ahead Benefits of this position This position comes with a rental property - a 3 bedroom unfurnished house is available for relocating applicant.
