Civmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system. The Greenfields scope includes a new primary crushing facility, discharge conveyor and transfer station and a 17-kilometre overland conveying system that transfers the ore through to the existing Paraburdoo COS. The overland conveying system includes multiple conveyor flights, transfer stations and creek crossings to link the new primary crusher to the existing process plant. The Brownfields scope includes extensive modifications to the current Paraburdoo COS and downstream conveying system. This includes addition of new feed points at the COS, new ore transfer equipment, conveyor replacements, conveyor upgrades, drive replacements and a range of other general modifications to receive the new ore stream. Position starting from mid-July 2023. - Expected project completion 2024 - FIFO 2 : 1 Roster - Opportunity to be a part of Civmec's largest Civil, SMP, and Electrical Construction Project and join out growing construction team Duties and Responsibilities - Monitor and guide supervision and direct employees to ensure their compliance with the HSE Plan - Provide and maintain a safe working environment and manage the safety and environmental performance of all personnel on site - Ensure that safety is an integral component of all construction planning and processes - Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections and project scheduling - Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work - Execute the construction portion of project plans through detailed planning and day-to-day direction of field activities - Conduct and record site inspections and risk assessments (including hazard identification, risk analysis and control) - Communicate and report on HSE issues / incidents (e.g. toolbox meetings) and participate in the resolution of HSE issues - Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports About You - Very strong background in reinforced concrete with a specialty in managing formwork, concrete placement or reinforcement. - Driven and energetic leader, takes pride in achieving production targets - Strong leadership qualities and the ability to instill positive attitudes within a team - Recognised Australian Trade Qualification - White Card / Blue Card - Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite - Developed interpersonal skills
