The Project Engineer will lead construction and maintenance services for water, sewerage, parks & gardens, and pool infrastructure. Key Responsibilities - Undertake and/or provide technical expertise for, contract administration for road infrastructure construction - Manage Council’s day-to-day construction works and programs for roads - Manage allocated Capital and Operation Projects as directed. - Assist in planning, managing, and providing leadership, including coordination of operations and performance - Assist with developing and controlling expenditure against annual budgets - Prepare periodic reports to the Manager of Roads Construction and Maintenance to monitor safety, programme, expenditure, quality, environmental, stakeholder engagement, customer service and other performance requirements. - Assist in the preparation of progress claims and payment certificated for contracted works. - Maintain quality assurance systems and records pertaining to construction works. - To be able to assist with capital works program management, construction procurement, construction management and contract administration services. The Workshop Coordinator is responsible for plant assets and the operations of Balonne Shire Council’s workshops. The position provides asset management input to the Manager Roads Construction and Maintenance for reporting purposes, assistance with forward planning, budgeting and 10 years scheduled replacement program and disposal heavy plant; and management and coordination of fit for purpose heavy plant and equipment to internal stakeholders. The role is crucial to delivering the Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget and Budget Reviews, ensuring statutory deadlines are met. The successful candidate will manage Council's finances, respond to audits, oversee the financial aspects of asset management and provide strategic advice on budget management and funding.
