About the Opportunity Based in Warakurna community in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands , the Sports Leadership Development Coordinator will be responsible for building the Ngaanyatjarra Sports Competition, ensuring its future development and success through a range of community, sports and participation objectives. This role presents an exciting opportunity to utilize sports as a vehicle for positive change within the Ngaanyatjarra community, promoting health, education, and community development while fostering growth and capacity building among community members This role will be required to produce regular reports, organise teams and officials and recruit volunteers to various roles critical for the success of the sporting competition. The successful candidate will possess : - Demonstrated experience supporting local communities, coaches, team managers, umpires and field staff in sporting development and program delivery. - Design and implement a multifaceted sports programs - Develop training programs for teams to promote activity between weekend games, focusing on skill development, fitness, and team cohesion - Develop and enforce program guidelines, rules, and regulations - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Budget management and reporting acquittal skills. - Demonstrated experience in maintaining records and producing progress reports. - Foster partnerships with stakeholders About you : - Tertiary based Sports Management / Sports Science qualifications or equivalent is desirable. - Demonstrated experience in sports program coordination, preferably within a community or Indigenous context. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. - Valid manual Australian drivers licence. - WA Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
